Abstract Friction force is a crucial factor causing power loss and fatigue spalling of rolling element bearings. A combined experimental analytical method proposed to quantitatively determine the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) friction distribution between rollers outer raceway in cylindrical roller bearing (CRB). An system with instrumented housing was developed for measuring radial load torque simplified model expressed by dimensionless speed, load, material parameters given. inequality constrained optimization problem established solved using an data-driven learning algorithm determining uncertain model.
